Episode 97 The return of Jenna Muri-Rosenthal of Fit to Function Recovery and an update that is Way Beyond “Better Than Good Enough” !!
With Co-Hosts Michael Garrow and David Dansereau
About Jenna: We had Jenna on the show on Episode 70 when she was first launching her new facility. You can listen to that episode here: https://www.buzzsprout.com/1751132/episodes/14848193
Jenna has her clinical roots at Spaulding Rehab and is an experienced speech and language pathologist (SLP) who uses her passion for Crossfit and advanced training in brain injury and rehabilitation to offer a neuro adaptive fitness and cognitive communication rehabilitation model. Her gym is based just outside of Boston (Roslindale/West Roxbury,MA) where she recently expanded her space and programs and has built an inspiring community fitness hub for all abilities and ages. We still love her motto “Better than Good Enough” but now she’s gone “Way Beyond Better!!
On this episode, you’ll discover how her work is transforming recovery and wellness through functional fitness and neuroplasticity. Here’s a few of the topics we covered:
- Adaptive fitness and its role in recovery
- The science of brain-derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF)
- Impact of high-intensity workouts on neuroplasticity
- Community building through inclusive fitness programs
- Expansion and growth of Jenna's fitness facility
- Training trainers for adaptive fitness
- Youth and senior fitness programs
- Overcoming barriers in adaptive training
- The future of fitness and neurorehabilitation
